Rent a stable sit-on-top kayak from our base at the Nile River Explorers campsite to go out and explore lake Bujagali on your own. These kayaks can seat up to two people and are great for just getting out on the water with no previous experience.
We will supply you with paddles, a buoyancy aid and if you want to take a small camera we can provide you with a dry box for your trip.
Out on the lake is a great place to get some time to yourself. Away from the camp and with only a few fishermen around getting on with their day this is a perfect way to get the space you may have been craving.
On the water you can expect to see a whole host of bird life. From the tiny malachite kingfisher (Alcedo cristata) to the mighty African fish eagle (Haliaeetus vocifer) there are around 20 species of bird which have daily sightings here on the lake.
Rarer sights include large monitor lizards, black and white casqued hornbill (Bycanistes subcylindricus), the hamerkop (Scopus umbretta) and freshwater otters.
