This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do the Nile River’s most exciting adventure activities! White water kayaking on the Nile is not to be missed. With its warm water and great rapids of all grades, it’s the perfect environment for every ability and adventure level, from complete beginner to expert. Situated right at the source of the iconic Nile River this is the perfect chance to experience all this beautiful region is famous for!

Day 1: Today is spent learning to white water kayak as we travel down the calmer stretches of the Nile River. No previous experience necessary because our expert instructors will teach you all you need to know. On your first afternoon, you’ll test your new skills on rapids of up to grade 3! That’s enough to be thrilling, and a little scary, but very achievable and safe. White water kayaking on the Nile is an experience that draws in people from around the world, with many seasoned kayaking pros choosing Uganda as their winter training ground.

Day 2: You get to check out the bigger stuff when you go grade 5 tandem kayaking, with one of our skilled guides in the back seat steering you down 25kms of some of the biggest white water on the planet. This is the only river in Africa you can do this on! Facing huge wave trains and powerful hydraulics, it’s a team effort between you and your guide to make it through all the rapids successfully. Spend the night with your friends enjoying the views from Nile River Explorers campsite with the famous Ugandan Nile Special beer in hand as you relive your epic days on the river together!

Day 3: Having scratched the epic world-famous rapids of the Nile off your bucket list over the last two days, today is a chance to kick back and relax on the river. After a busy volunteer program it’s time to sit back read a book, swim in the river, play a round of crazy golf and relax on our SUP Hammock. Tonight we celebrate all you have achieved with EAP whilst here by having a big barbecue dinner and party. All the extension groups will end up together at the campsite for the last hurrah!

After a busy volunteer schedule you’ll feel like a bit of rest and relaxation and the beautiful Nile River region can deliver this in bucket loads! From staying at accommodation with some of the best views in Uganda to floating in a hammock on the water, you’ll enjoy the much deserved downtime and go home feeling very chilled.

Day 1: A few rounds of crazy golf on the ‘big game’ golf course, where, amongst other things you’ll get the rather unique opportunity to putt a golf ball into an elephants trunk. Optional additional drinking rules available on request! You’ll also have the chance to float on one of the calm sections of the Nile on a SUP board, in a hammock. That’s right, you did read it right, a metal frame strapped to a few stand up paddle boards provides possibly the coolest and most chilled way to enjoy a cold drink and experience an iconic Nile River sunset… floating cool box included! Dinner this evening will be a local feast prepared by a chef from Bujagali village nearby.

Day 2: After a traditional Ugandan rolled eggs, or rolex as it’s more commonly called, (a chapatti with vegetable omelette rolled up together) and some fresh fruit and coffee, you’ll get to try SUPing (Stand Up Paddleboarding) on the Nile River. This gentle and relaxing activity feels like you’re walking on water and our expert guide will show you all the basic moves to get you enjoying your float on the Nile. After your morning on the water, we’ll transfer you to the beautiful Haven lodge (check out the video below for more on this amazing lodge) on the river with plenty of time to relax by the pool for the rest of the day. Put your feet up, enjoy a bit of well-earned rest and reflect on your time in Uganda. Massages available as well!
