High Adrenaline on the Nile
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do the Nile River’s most exciting adventure activities. People come from all over the world to tick off the Nile’s whitewater off their bucket list, so being in Uganda for your Play Action International volunteering, this is a great chance to experience some adventure and a bit more of the region and iconic Nile River that you are visiting. The warm water and world-famous rapids of all grades means there is great experience available for any adventure level, even if you’ve never been in a kayak before!

Itinerary
​
Day 1: The morning is spent learning to white water kayak as we travel down the calmer stretches of the Nile River. No previous experience necessary because our expert instructors will teach you all you need to know. On your first afternoon, you’ll test your new skills on some rapids, up to grade three if you game for the adventure! That’s enough to be thrilling (and a little scary!) but very achievable and safe. Whitewater kayaking on the Nile is a unique challenge and a great way to experience the iconic Nile River. This is no roller coaster; you are an active participant!
Day 2: You get to check out the bigger stuff when you go grade 5 tandem kayaking on day 2, with one of our professional guides in the back seat steering you down 25kms of some of the biggest white water on the planet. This is the only river in Africa, and one of only a few in the world you can do this on! Facing huge wave trains and powerful hydraulics, it’s a team effort between you and your guide to make it through all the rapids successfully. Spend the night enjoying the views from Nile River Explorers campsite with the famous Ugandan Nile Special beer in hand as you relive your epic days on the river!
Day 3: Having scratched the epic rapids of the Nile off your bucket list over the last two days, today is a chance to kick back and relax on the river. Read a book, swim in the river, enjoy a tour of our beautiful riverside village, Bujagali. Our local, expert guide will take you on a leisurely tour around the village, providing you with a taste of how local, rural life if lived in the Pearl of Africa. Then relax on our Stand-Up Paddleboard Hammock. The SUP hammock is a unique and awesome experience, a hammock frame that floats on top of a few SUP boards on a calm section of the Nile, cold drinks and serious relaxation is the name of the game!

A full day of Whitewater Kayaking (all equipment, coaching, transport to and from river, cold drinks at the end of the day).

A full day of Tandem Kayaking (all equipment, one to one guide, safety kayakers, transport to and from river, cold drinks at end of the day).

A 1.5-hour SUP Hammock tour with guide and drinks.
